DESCRIPTION:Roll & Stroll is coming – are you ready to move? \n\n\n\nRoll & Stroll is coming this May\, and we’re reaching out to let you know the fun\, free\, campaign that encourages and supports people to get active. \n\n\n\nThis May Love to Ride’s new travel challenge celebrates all forms of active travel\, whether that’s riding\, walking\, or wheeling. Love to Ride usually champion cycling however this challenge expands participation so more people can join in and be recognised for their everyday active travel.  The aim is simple: to get more people to get active and move more. Participants can ride\, walk\, or wheel anywhere\, anytime in May to participate. \n\n\n\nThroughout May\, participants everywhere are encouraged to move actively: \n\n\n\n\nEveryone is invited : whether they walk to the bus\, wheel to work\, or cycle for fun.\n\n\n\nMore points=bigger chance to win prizes : Earn 10 points for every day they are active and up to 100 points for encouraging others to take part. Plus\, extra prize entries can be gained for each mile travelled.\n\n\n\nWorkplace competition: Move with co-workers to top the leaderboards and bring active fun into the workplace.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHow does it work? \n\n\n\n\nRegister for FREE at lovetoride.net\n\n\n\nBike\, walk or wheel anywhere\, anytime during May\n\n\n\nLog trips on Love to Ride website or app\, or sync with Strava/Garmin.\n\n\n\nEncourage others using your unique profile link to earn extra points.\n\n\n\nTake part with your workplace\, school or social group to climb the leaderboards and spread active fun!\n\n\n\n\nRoll & Stroll is a days active challenge — not a steps challenge. \n\n\n\n✔ It’s about daily activity and building habits. \n\n\n\n✔ Trips must be at least 300 metres to count. \n\n\n\n✔ Trips are rewarded equally across modes. \n\n\n\nThe emphasis is on frequency and consistency – not athletic performance. \n\n\n\nBy logging trips and getting active daily\, great prizes can be won\, like a £4\,000 holiday plus there are bonus prize entries for each mile people move! \n\n\n\nIt’s totally free to take part! SUMMARY:Gardening with Friends of Towneley Park
DESCRIPTION:The friends of Towneley park meet every Thursday at the Friends Meeting Room. The meeting room can be found near the bowling green behind the Italian gardens and close to Offshoots community garden. The group undertake an array of different gardening activities\, along with cleaning signs\, refurbishing benches and any little jobs that help keep the park welcoming and attractive for all visitors.  \n\n\n\nIt is a fab way to learn new skills\, and meet new people whilst taking pride in local spaces. Anyone is welcome to come along\, and the group always finish with a brew\, biscuit and a chat.

SUMMARY:LITTER PICKING WITH PADIHAM LITTER PICKERS
DESCRIPTION:Hi! We are a group of dedicated litter-picking volunteers who love our great town – PADIHAM! Our group has collected over 1\,100 bags of litter over the past nine months\, but our BAGOMETER is hungry for more!! Anyone is welcome to join us as we work for ‘Cleaner Streets and a Tidier Town’! \n\n\n\nWe meet every Saturday at 1 pm\, at different venues around town for our ‘SUPER SATURDAY’ litter picks. . Please see our PADIHAM LITTER PICKERS Facebook page for more details of this and future events. \n\n\n\nWe also meet at 1 pm every Thursday\, at Clitheroe Street Car Park\, behind the ‘Hand and Shuttle’\, for our regular litter pick around the town centre\, and along both sides of Burnley Road\, up as far as Dryden Street. \n\n\n\nOur litter picks last between 1 and 2 hours\, and you can stay for the whole pick\, or for just as much as you feel able. Children are welcome too\, but an adult must accompany those under 14. Dogs are also welcome! \n\n\n\nWe supply ALL the equipment you will need\, at no charge\, along with free chocolate and cold drinks. You can also pick up a copy of our FREE 12-page full-colour newsletter\, ‘The Picker’\, which is also available from Taproom Padiham\, Bertwistles Bakery\, Barber Bros\, and Rawes Grazing Co\, plus the foyer at Padiham Town Hall. \n\n\n\nSo why not come along and enjoy the great outdoors\, meet new friends\, and partake in a really meaningful community activity?
