The walk is suitable for all ages and abilities and will be a gentle\, but please bear in mind the park is on a slope so there will be a little incline. There will be a couple of torches and glow batons available to borrow but these are very limited\, so we advise that you bring your own torches and glow in the dark materials. DESCRIPTION:Join our wonderful volunteer Roger Cunliffe on a guided Bat Walk. Roger has been an LCC volunteer ranger for over 13 years\, with a wealth of knowledge in areas across the Borough. The walk will start from in front of Towneley Hall. You will meet others\, discuss what you already know\, before being guided on a look & listen walk around the halls\, woods and gardens.A number of bat detectors will be provided\, but it is recommended you bring a working torch\, own refreshments/drinks\, outdoor footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. BOOKING ESSENTIALThe walk is FREE to attend\, but due to the outstanding turnout of over 120 people at a previous walk\, we are asking that all attendee’s book via the Eventbrite link below so we can monitor numbers. The walk will start from Gawthorpe Hall’s public car park. Meeting others\, discussing what you already know\, before a Look & listen walk.A number of bat detectors will be provided\, but it is recommended you bring a working torch\, own refreshments/drinks\, outdoor footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. DESCRIPTION:Join us in watching the sunset over the borough from the iconic Singing Ringing Tree.The walk will by guided by a qualified walk leader over the trails from Clowbridge Reservoir to the Singing Ringing Tree. The walk will take approximately 1 hour to reach the location. Once there\, we will take some time to sit watching the sun set before returning back to the start location. Approximately 2 hours walking time in total\, and a fabulous opportunity to meet others for a lovely evening stroll. Please note:The walk will be on mixed terrain and footpaths and is not suitable for pushchairs or those who may struggle underfoot. DESCRIPTION:Come for a walk with the National trust Ranger through the wider estate at Gawthorpe and learn about the challenges to conservation and what work is being carried out to improve biodiversity.Discover the different types of woodland present on site and learn about the different ancient woodland features found there. \n\n\n\nThe walk will head into the woods up Habergham Drive. The pace will slow as we talk about the woodland and ecology on route. The walk will then head through the woods down towards the car park venturing through the woods towards the river Calder before heading back.
